About OBT Financial Group

OBT Financial Group (OBT) commenced business in 1984 as O’Brien Turner & Associates in Gatton with founding partners Rodney Turner and Peter O’Brien.

Brett Garmeister joined the firm as an accountant on 5 November 1990 mentored by Rodney Turner and was subsequently brought into the partnership on 1 July 1998.

Initially OBT was a small accountancy firm advising local business and farming families. OBT has since grown to be the largest accountancy business in the Lockyer Valley with two of the directors, Rodney and Brett, operating from Gatton supported by 12 accountants and support staff.  Our third director, Peter, now manages a second accounting business that we bought on Bribie Island in 2007.

Our business now not only advises businesses locally but also Australia-wide as well as internationally. At OBT our focus is to deliver an accounting and tax resource to business owners, as opposed to providing a generalist service.  We have specifically chosen to service business owners offering experience and expertise to the community and, because of the boutique nature of our business, clients always have confidential access to our key staff.

Because of the in-depth way in which we work with our clients, we only take on a select number of business clients allowing us to concentrate on the six service offerings above. In addition we have devised and proactively step through our Building Blocks© process to ensure our clients’ financial security is achieved.
